MARADONA

Rafael Benitez is preparing to welcome Diego Maradona to Anfield.

The Argentina legend is back in the game.
The new Argentina boss has announced he is to visit England to discuss plans with Liverpool's Javier Mascherano and Manchester United's Carlos Tevez, and it is thought he may attend the Reds' Tuesday night Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid to run the rule over the tough-tackling midfielder.
"I know when Javier was told about the appointment he was excited, and very pleased," Benitez said. "I do not know whether Maradona will be here for the Madrid game, but it is possible. There are several good Argentinians in their squad for him to see.
"I have been told by the Argentina federation that he will be in England between November 2 and 8. He also wants to see Carlos Tevez in Manchester."
In separate comments, Benitez urged fans at Reds striker Robbie Keane's old club, Spurs, to treat their former idol with respect when Liverpool visit tomorrow.
The north Londoners are expected to offer a largely hostile reception to Keane, but Benitez compared the striker's return to Peter Crouch's arrival at Anfield in a Portsmouth shirt on Wednesday, just months after his move to Fratton Park.
The Spaniard said: "Peter came back to Liverpool this week and was given a great reception. He will always be a good player and he has the respect of our fans.
"I do not believe that Robbie has anything to prove, he has great quality. Hopefully Spurs fans will acknowledge this and what he did for them, and that he is now with another team.
"Keane is available after his slight [groin] injury; he wants to play every game anyway, but yes, this one is very important to him."

THEIR KIT

Chelsea's traditional kit colours are royal blue shirts and shorts with white socks. The club crest has been changed several times in attempts to modernise or re-brand; the current crest, featuring a ceremonial lion holding a staff, is a modified version of the one first adopted in the 1950s.[4] The club enjoys a large fan base, with the fifth highest average all-time attendance in English football.[5] Their average home gate for the 2007-08 season was 41,673, the fifth highest in the Premier League.[6]

THE STADIUM OF CHELSEA FC

CHELSEA STADIUM [know as STAMFORD BRIDGE]

Chelsea's home is the 42,055-person-capacity[1] Stamford Bridge football stadium in Fulham, West London, where they have played since their establishment. Despite their name, the club are based just outside the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. In 2003, they were bought by Russian milliner Roman Abramovich.[3]

SUCCESS OF THE CLUB

THE SUCCESS OF CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB

The club had their first major success in 1955, winning the league championship. Chelsea won several cup competitions during the 1960s and 1970s, but did not win another major title until 1997. The past decade has been the most successful period in Chelsea’s history, capped by winning consecutive
Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006, and reaching their first UEFA Champions League final in 2008.

Ronaldo:Scored 42 last session

Sir Alex Ferguson warned Cristiano Ronaldo that he'd struggle to equal the ridiculous goal tally he amassed last season, saying: "He has five goals now and he got 42 last season. I would expect him to get between 25 and 42 this year."Now, though, the midfielder-cum-striker insists that, despite his stint at Euro 2008 and subsequent ankle injury - not to mention the months of controversy surrounding the 'move that never was' to Real Madrid - he can smash his own record."I know it’s very difficult to score 42 goals again," he admitted, "but I believe in myself and in my colleagues. "I’m training the same and I hope to do the same or better."However, managers and players in the Premier League and around Europe will be spending a lot more time dissecting the Portuguese superstar's game this term and the 23-year-old no longer has an element of surprise. Last time out, it was unclear as to whether Fergie was deploying him as a winger or a striker. By the time anyone had figured it out, Ronaldo was well on the way to his goal bonanza. Thus, a repeat is a bold claim, to say the least. Still, who's going to rule it out at this point?

Lampard: Ronaldo Deserves FIFA Crown

Chelsea ace Frank Lampard has reluctantly admitted that, in terms of the FIFA World Player of the Year, all signs point to Cristiano Ronaldo...
Of the 23 nominees, the Blues midfielder is part of a ten-strong Premiership presence that also includes Liverpool pair Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, with Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas in the mix, too. However, Lampard admits that the EPL stars, along with everyone else, should start practising their 'gracious loser' face ahead of the January 12 ceremony in Zurich.Talking to the Daily Express, he insisted that Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has the award in the bag."I'll be honest," he said, "It looks like it is going to be Ronaldo."Anyone who scores 42 goals in a season - performing the way he did - and wins the league and the Champions League is going to be hard to beat."Perhaps rueing Chelsea's 'so near yet so far' end-of-season festival of heartbreak under Avram Grant, Lamps continued: "Ronaldo said it the other day and he's right: the World Player of the Year award goes to a top, top player and it goes generally to those that have won things as well."Normally top players win things and when you look at Ronaldo, Kaka, Fabio Cannavaro, Ronaldinho - the recent winners - they have all been successful in their teams."Now, Lampard has targeted trophies so that he, too, can be showered with individual honours. He added: "If we can keep going through the very difficult parts at Christmas and Easter then hopefully we'll be up there again."

David Beckham

Dear listeners do you know that the living legend David Beckham will have only just two months to make an impact at AC Milan after clinching a loan move to the Serie A giants on Thursday. The 33-year-old England midfielder will join Milan on first week of January 2008 and could make his debut four days later away to Roma.
His current image
David Beckham's presence failed to inspire Galaxy to great things during the MLS this season.
But he must return to the Los Angeles Galaxy by early March, to prepare for the Major League Soccer season, which is expected to start on March 19. All parties concerned are content with the terms of the deal, which was struck in Milan a week earlier than anticipated.
Milan director Umberto Gandini told Sky Sports News: ''The deal will be as long as David wishes. I think his commitment to MLS and Los Angeles Galaxy will take him back after a couple of months. I think he will have to go back to Galaxy by the time the MLS starts, and training before that.''
Gandini also confirmed that the Italian club do not expect any opportunity to arise which would allow them to sign the 33-year-old permanently, saying: ''David is committed to the Los Angeles Galaxy and the MLS. He thanks them for the opportunity to let him train and work with us, we're very happy for that.
''Only David knows his future, but for sure he has a commitment to go back to the MLS and I think he will fulfil that.''
Beckham is seeking to maintain his match fitness to ensure he stays in the England squad as he closes in on a record number of caps for an outfield player. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder has 107 caps, one behind the late Bobby Moore who led England to their 1966 World Cup triumph.
The former England captain hopes to retain his place in coach Fabio Capello's squad and is believed to be targeting international retirement after the 2010 World Cup.
Capello has indicated he will only select players who are active with their clubs, and with LA Galaxy now in their off-season, Beckham risked being left out for upcoming games, including the proposed friendly against European champions Spain in February.
Beckham will join a star-crammed squad at Milan, with the likes of current world best player of the year Kaka, Andriy Shevchenko and Ronaldinho soon to be team-mates.
''The players understand we are the premium brand,'' said Gandini. ''We are a fantastic club, one of the best clubs in the world. The fact they want to play with us is a great achievement.
''David Beckham will come to our club where he will have a lot of people and a lot of players that have his ability and status so I think it will be very beneficial for him and the English game.''
Beckham is by no means certain to feature regularly for Milan, with nothing in his contract stipulating he will play in a specific number of games. Gandini confirmed: ''He will train with the other Milan players and the selection will be up to the coaches.''
Capello expects David Beckham will prove to be a ''great acquisition'' for Milan, the England coach's former club. Capello has worked with Beckham at Real Madrid and England and has been impressed by his work-rate.
Speaking before the deal was completed, Capello told Milan's World Business Forum: ''If Milan sign him they will make a great acquisition. He is a very focused lad. He is a professional. When I left him out of the team in Madrid because he had signed the contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy, he continued to come to the pitch to train and I put him back in the team.''
''He is a very serious lad, very sensible, a professional. People think he is a playboy off the field, it's not true at all,'' added Capello
Talks over Beckham's future were originally scheduled for next week, but the player's representatives and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani met on Thursday afternoon to thrash out the transfer.
The former England captain was a Milan target in January 2007, but opted instead to move to Los Angeles from Real Madrid.
In a joint statement Milan and LA Galaxy confirmed Beckham would return to the States for training before the MLS begins, which suggests he will spend just two months back in Europe.
Writing on his website's blog Beckham this week admitted he was looking forward to joining Milan.
He explained: ''One of the reasons I want to train and play in Milan for a few months is the fact that the MLS season doesn't run as long as the European season and having played most of my career in Europe, my body has been trained and geared not to have that amount of time off.
''Obviously, I will be honoured to be given the chance to train and play with the likes of two world best players Ronaldinho and Kaka, but it also gives me the chance to keep my fitness up and carry that on for when I come back to the Galaxy for the new MLS season.''
He rubbished suggestions he had bought a house in Milan and denied planning to purchase a jet, and also confirmed LA Galaxy remain his priority.
''Next season is an important one for the Galaxy,'' Beckham remarked. ''We haven't been in the play-offs for three years now and for a team like LA Galaxy we all know that isn't good enough.
''(Head coach) Bruce Arena will also have had the chance over the past few months to get used to the squad and, with his experience and previous success, he'll want to make sure that we're up there competing next year.''
Galaxy boss Arena has given his blessing to Beckham's transfer. Arena had described the deal as ''an odd proposition'' last week and questioned whether the MLS and Galaxy would benefit.
However he has become convinced Beckham is making the right move.
''Clearly I think this is an ideal situation for David,'' Arena told Sky Sports News. ''It can benefit David, it can benefit England, it can benefit the LA Galaxy and hopefully it benefits AC Milan as well.''
Arena expects the 2009 MLS season to start on March 19, and he stressed Beckham will be involved.
''David will be back and have a couple of weeks of training with our team and will be ready to really kick off in a good fashion in 2009,'' Arena said.
The former United States head coach recognises Beckham's desire to stay involved and active with England.
''I can't speak for David but what motivates any top-level footballer is the fact that playing for your national team is the greatest honour,'' Arena said. ''And having the potential to play in another World Cup is every player's dream. I think these are the things that motivate him.''

Tupac Biography

Tupac became the unlikely martyr of gangsta rap, and a tragic symbol of the toll its lifestyle exacted on urban black America. At the outset of his career, it didn't appear that he would emerge as one of the definitive rappers of the '90s -- he started out as a second-string rapper and dancer for Digital Underground, joining only after they had already landed their biggest hit. But in 1991, he delivered an acclaimed debut album, 2Pacalypse Now, and quickly followed with a star-making performance in the urban drama Juice. Over the course of one year, his profile rose substantially, based as much on his run-ins with the law as his music. By 1994, 2Pac rivaled Snoop Dogg as the most controversial figure in rap, spending as much time in prison as he did in the recording studio. His burgeoning outlaw mythology helped his 1995 album Me Against the World enter the charts at number one, and it also opened him up to charges of exploitation. Yet, as the single "Dear Mama" illustrated, he was capable of sensitivity as well as violence. Signing with Death Row Records in late 1995, 2Pac released the double-album All Eyez on Me in the spring of 1996, and the record, as well as its hit single "California Love," confirmed his superstar status. Unfortunately, the gangsta lifestyle he captured in his music soon overtook his own life. While his celebrity was at its peak, he publicly fought with his rival, the Notorious B.I.G., and there were tensions brewing at Death Row. Even with such conflicts, however, Tupac's drive-by shooting in September 1996 came as an unexpected shock. On September 13, six days after the shooting, Tupac passed away, leaving behind a legacy that was based as much on his lifestyle as it was his music. The son of two Black Panther members, Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in New York City. His parents had separated before he was born, and his mother moved him and his sister around the country for much of their childhood. Frequently, the family was at the poverty level, but Shakur managed to gain acceptance to the prestigious Baltimore School of the Arts as a teenager. While he was at the school, his creative side flourished, as he began writing raps and acting. Before he could graduate, his family moved to Marin City, CA, when he was 17 years old. Over the next few years, he lived on the streets and began hustling. Eventually, he met Shock-G, the leader of Digital Underground. The Oakland-based crew decided to hire him as a dancer and roadie, and as he toured with the group, he worked on his own material. 2Pac made his first recorded appearance on the group's spring 1991 record, This Is an EP Release, and he also appeared on their second album, Sons of the P. The following year, he released his own debut, 2Pacalypse Now. The album became a word-of-mouth hit, as "Brenda's Got a Baby" reached the R&B Top 30 and the record went gold. However, its blunt and explicit lyrics earned criticisms for moral watchdogs, and Vice President Dan Quayle attacked the album while he was campaigning for re-election that year. Shakur's profile was raised considerably by his acclaimed role in the Ernest Dickerson film Juice, which led to a lead role in John Singleton's Poetic Justice the following year. By the time the film hit theaters, 2Pac had released his second album, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., which became a platinum album, peaking at number four on the R&B charts and launching the Top Ten R&B hit singles "I Get Around" and "Keep Ya Head Up," which peaked at number 11 and 12, respectively, on the pop charts. Late in 1993, he acted in the basketball movie Above the Rim. Although Shakur was selling records and earning praise for his music and acting, he began having serious altercations with the law; prior to becoming a recording artist, he had no police record. He was arrested in 1992 after he was involved in a fight that culminated with a stray bullet killing a six-year-old bystander; the charges were later dismissed. 2Pac was filming Menace II Society in the summer of 1993 when he assaulted director Allen Hughes; he was sentenced to 15 days in jail in early 1994. The sentence arrived after two other high-profile incidents. In October of 1993, when he was charged with shooting two off-duty police officers in Atlanta. The charges were dismissed, but the following month, he and two members of his entourage were charged with sexually abusing a female fan. In 1994, he was found guilty of sexual assault. The day after the verdict was announced, he was shot by a pair of muggers while he was in the lobby of a New York City recordings studio. Shakur was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison on February 7, 1995. Later that month, Shakur began serving his sentence. He was in jail when his third album, Me Against the World, was released in March. The record entered the charts at number one, making 2Pac the first artist to enjoy a number one record while serving a prison sentence. While he was in prison, he accused the Notorious B.I.G., Puffy Combs, Andre Harrell, and his own close friend Randy "Stretch" Walker of orchestrating his New York shooting. Shakur only served eight months of his sentence, as Suge Knight, the president of Death Row Records, arranged for parole and posted a 1.4 million dollar bond for the rapper. By the end of the year, 2Pac was out of prison and working on his debut for Death Row. On November 30, 1995 -- the one-year anniversary of the New York shooting -- Walker was killed in a gangland-styled murder in Queens. 2Pac's Death Row debut, All Eyez on Me, was the first double disc of original material in hip-hop history. It debuted at number one upon its February release, and would be certified quintuple platinum by the fall. Although he had a hit record and, with the Dr. Dre duet "California Love," a massive single on his hands, Shakur was beginning to tire of hip-hop and started to concentrate on acting. During the summer of 1996, he completed two films, the thriller Bullet and the dark comedy Gridlock'd, which also starred Tim Roth. He also made some recordings for Death Row, which was quickly disintegrating without Dre as the house producer, and as Knight became heavily involved in illegal activities. At the time of his murder in September 1996, there were indications that Shakur was considering leaving Death Row, and maybe even rap, behind. None of those theories can ever be confirmed, just as the reasons behind his shooting remain mysterious. Shakur was shot on the Las Vegas strip as he was riding in the passenger seat of Knight's car. They had just seen the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon fight at the MGM Grand, and as they were leaving the hotel, 2Pac got into a fight with an unnamed young black man. The case was never solved, but it has been suggested that this was the cause of the drive-by shooting, and it has also been suggested that Knight's ties to the mob and to gangs were the reason; another theory is that the Notorious B.I.G. arranged the shooting as retaliation for 2Pac's comments that he slept with Biggie's wife, Faith Evans. Either way, Shakur was shot four times and was admitted to University of Nevada Medical Center. Six days later, he died from his wounds. Hundreds of mourners appeared at the hospital upon news of his death, and the entire entertainment industry mourned his passing, especially since there were no leads in the case. Many believed his death would end the much-hyped East Coast/West Coast hip-hop rivalry and decrease black-on-black violence. Sadly, six months after his death, the Notorious B.I.G. was murdered under similar circumstances.

Dear Mama lyrics
You are appreciated
[Verse One: 2Pac]
When I was young me and my mama had beef Seventeen years old kicked out on the streetsThough back at the time, I never thought I'd see her face Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place Suspended from school; and scared to go home, I was a foolwith the big boys, breakin all the rulesI shed tears with my baby sister Over the years we was poorer than the other little kids And even though we had different daddy's, the same drama When things went wrong we'd blame mamaI reminice on the stress I caused, it was hell Huggin on my mama from a jail cellAnd who'd think in elementary?Heeey! I see the penitentiary, one dayAnd runnin from the police, that's right Mama catch me, put a whoopin to my backsideAnd even as a crack fiend, mamaYou always was a black queen, mamaI finally understandfor a woman it ain't easy tryin to raise a manYou always was committedA poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did itThere's no way I can pay you backBut the plan is to show you that I understandYou are appreciated[Chorus: Reggie Green & "Sweet Franklin" w/ 2Pac]Lady... Don't cha know we love ya? Sweet lady Dear mama Place no one above ya, sweet ladyYou are appreciated Don't cha know we love ya? [second and third chorus, "And dear mama" instead of "Dear mama"] [Verse Two: 2Pac] Now ain't nobody tell us it was fairNo love from my daddy cause the coward wasn't thereHe passed away and I didn't cry, cause my anger wouldn't let me feel for a strangerThey say I'm wrong and I'm heartless, but all alongI was lookin for a father he was gone I hung around with the Thugs, and even though they sold drugs They showed a young brother loveI moved out and started really hanginI needed money of my own so I started slanginI ain't guilty cause, even though I sell rocksIt feels good puttin money in your mailboxI love payin rent when the rent's due I hope ya got the diamond necklace that I sent to youCause when I was low you was there for me And never left me alone because you cared for meAnd I could see you comin home after work late You're in the kitchen tryin to fix us a hot plateYa just workin with the scraps you was givenAnd mama made miracles every Thanksgivin But now the road got rough, you're alone You're tryin to raise two bad kids on your ownAnd there's no way I can pay you backBut my plan is to show you that I understand You are appreciated [Chorus][Verse Three: 2Pac]Pour out some liquor and I reminsce, cause through the drama I can always depend on my mamaAnd when it seems that I'm hopelessYou say the words that can get me back in focus When I was sick as a little kidTo keep me happy there's no limit to the things you didAnd all my childhood memories Are full of all the sweet things you did for meAnd even though I act craaazyI gotta thank the Lord that you made meThere are no words that can express how I feelYou never kept a secret, always stayed realAnd I appreciate, how you raised meAnd all the extra love that you gave meI wish I could take the pain awayIf you can make it through the night there's a brighter dayEverything will be alright if ya hold onIt's a struggle everyday, gotta roll on And there's no way I can pay you backBut my plan is to show you that I understand You are appreciated[Chorus]Sweet lady And dear mama Dear mama Lady [3X]

Tupac Discography

Tupac Shakur Loyal to the GameRelease Date: 2004 12 14Label: Amaru / InterscopeRating: Loyal to the Game, the ninth TuPac album released by his enterprising mother-turned-executive producer, Afeni Shakur, is one of the more unique entries in the martyred rap legend's extensive catalog. Produced entirely by Eminem, it carries on with the approach the man otherwise known as Marshall Mathers took with his production contributions to the preceding year's Tupac: Resurrection. Eminem had produced a few songs on that soundtrack, most notably the landmark TuPac-Biggie duet "Runnin' (Dying to Live)," and his work here on Loyal to the Game isn't too much of a departure from the style of that song. In the wake of that song's popularity, Afeni gave Eminem some old tapes, and he went to work, stripping them of their productions, giving them his own trademark backing (characterized by his style of punchy, syncopated, unfunky beatmaking), incorporating some guest raps for secondary verses, and polishing them off with various sorts of hooks. Eminem's efforts here work, even if they aren't ideal. On the one hand, there's no questioning Em's integrity. He pens some reverent liner notes, explaining his position (or justifying it, depending on your viewpoint), and Afeni also pens some touching liners, likewise explaining why Eminem of all people gets the green light to produce this album in its entirety. And Em doesn't take his job here lightly. His beats hit hard and are well crafted, most similar to his more hardcore self-productions like "Mosh" or "Lose Yourself." His hooks are also well crafted: he takes the hook himself on "Soldier Like Me"; brings in 50 Cent and Nate Dogg for "Loyal to the Game" and "Thugs Get Lonely Too," respectively; samples Elton John ("Indian Sunset"), Curtis Mayfield ("If There's a Hell Below"), and Dido ("Do You Have a Little Time") for other songs; and lets TuPac handle his own hooks elsewhere. On the other, more cynical hand, Eminem simply isn't a good fit, and the four bonus tracks here testify to what could have been. Produced by Scott Storch, Red Spyda, Raphael Saadiq, and DJ Quik, these bonus track "remixes" are clearly the highlights of the album (and quite fantastic highlights at that, perhaps alone reason enough to pick up this album). These guys produce beats much more fitting to TuPac's rhyme style. Sure, Eminem is a great producer, but he produces these Pac tracks as if he were producing himself, and TuPac is a much different breed of rapper than Slim Shady, especially in terms of cadence and delivery. This is all the more evident because the source tapes of these tracks date back to the early '90s, when TuPac was at his funkiest and least hardcore. (While the dates aren't provided in the credits, the original producers are credited: Randy "Stretch" Walker, DJ Daryl, Live Squad, and Deon Evans, all of whom worked with Pac during his early years, namely the early '90s, just as he was leaving Digital Underground and getting his career off the ground. Various time-specific references within Pac's lyrics are further evidence of this, such as passing references to the L.A. riots.) How much Loyal to the Game ultimately appeals to you will likely depend on how much you like Eminem. After all, this is as much his album as 2Pac's -- a labor of love, no doubt. If you're fond of his lock-step beatmaking and big hooks, you'll find much to like here, for Pac's rhymes are undoubtedly fascinating in any context, even at this early stage of his career.
